Summary

A new spicy fantasy series from worldwide bestselling author K。F。 Breene! Perfect for fans of Sarah J Maas and Jennifer L Armentrout, and those who like a deliciously dark fairytale reimagining。

I could save him, but he would ruin me。

The beast。
The creature that stalks the forbidden wood。
The dragon prince。

He has suffered a fate worse than death。 We all have。 A curse put upon us by the mad king。

We are a kingdom locked in time。 Shifters unable to feel our animals。 Stuck here by a deal between the late king and a demon who seeks our destruction。

The only one keeping this kingdom alive is Nyfain, the golden prince to a stolen throne。 The last dragon shifter。

He’s our hope。
He’s my nightmare。

When he catches me trespassing in the forbidden wood, he doesn’t punish me with death, as he’s entitled。

He takes me, instead。 Forces me back to the castle as his prisoner。 Seeks to use me。

Apparently, I can save him。 I can save the whole forgotten kingdom, locked away by the demon king’s power。

But it would mean taming the monster beneath his skin。 It would mean giving myself to him。

It would mean my ruin。

Heads up readers, K。F。 Breene really lets loose on this one!A steamy Beauty and the Beast retelling, with a magical twist。 I'm not one for drawn out romance (or much romance in general, if we're bring honest), so I was really relieved that this was a touch more 'smutty' than than sappy gooey romance。 And by a touch, I mean: complete with a cast of very *ahem* uninhibited side characters。 I love it!I wouldn't typically pick up this type of book, and I almost NEVER re-read (who has the time?!) but Heads up readers, K。F。 Breene really lets loose on this one!A steamy Beauty and the Beast retelling, with a magical twist。 I'm not one for drawn out romance (or much romance in general, if we're bring honest), so I was really relieved that this was a touch more 'smutty' than than sappy gooey romance。 And by a touch, I mean: complete with a cast of very *ahem* uninhibited side characters。 I love it!I wouldn't typically pick up this type of book, and I almost NEVER re-read (who has the time?!) but I most definitely want to re-read this one! I want to shove at on all of my friends on release day and then bug them until they can talk to me about it。 Fantasy lovers will also appreciate that there is a magical element everywhere in the kingdom, it's not limited to the castle。 Oh, and there are DRAGONS。 I'm such a sucker for dragons I fan-girled a little。 Whew! This review seems like it's all over the place。。。 but mostly because I'm too afraid of accidentally spoiling something。 I know there have been some questions circling around the interwebs, mostly people wondering if this is YA。 To answer that, I'll leave you this quote: "I bit back a moan。 The feeling of his beast dominant and possessive。" And it only heats up from here, so take the hint。 ;)If you're into retellings and don't mind some sexy scenes and a fair bit of cussing: Just read this one! Seriously。 Get out of here。 Go read it already! 。。。more

I just thoroughly enjoyed the ever living hell out of this book。A Beauty and the Beast retelling (beginning) that was snarky, irreverent, poignant, adventurous, fun, and completely unputdownable。 I didn't eat lunch or dinner today, I couldn't spare the time。Our heroine is Finley, and she is hilarious。 All parts* of her are funny。 But not as hilarious as the thin mustached butler, Hadriel。 Once you read it, you'll understand。Nyfain is our hero and he is confusing。 He runs hot and cold and is just I just thoroughly enjoyed the ever living hell out of this book。A Beauty and the Beast retelling (beginning) that was snarky, irreverent, poignant, adventurous, fun, and completely unputdownable。 I didn't eat lunch or dinner today, I couldn't spare the time。Our heroine is Finley, and she is hilarious。 All parts* of her are funny。 But not as hilarious as the thin mustached butler, Hadriel。 Once you read it, you'll understand。Nyfain is our hero and he is confusing。 He runs hot and cold and is just really confusing。 I can only assume this is because of (view spoiler)[ the curse; like most Beauty and the Beast retellings, he can't tell her what he needs and wants because of the curse over the kingdom (this is my assumption, the book doesn't necessarily spell this out but I'm okay with that)。 (hide spoiler)] so I'm willing to forgive his hot and cold whiplash。 The world mythology was super interesting and easy to follow; I especially enjoyed the creativity surrounding the everlass (sp?) plants, that was super cool。 There's also a bit of (view spoiler)[ strange sexy stuff that makes sense in the context of the curse, (hide spoiler)] but I also found that addition to be a great/cool twist on the fairy tale。 My point is, I loved this book。 It was SO FRICKEN FUN and I found myself chuckling out loud like I was reading a romcom。 And then tensing and biting my nails like I was reading a romantic suspense。 And then swooning because these two have explosive chemistry。 Just 。 。 yaaas。 It's good。 The good stuff。 On the top shelf。 Treat yourself。 Go get it。 。。。more

This is not your ordinary fairytale retelling of Beauty and the Beast。 No, this is a pearl clutching read。 So get the pearls ready and be ready for what your about to read。 It was a great combo of, *pearl clutching*, and hilarious。 I really loved the heroine, Finley。 She doesn’t abide by what society tells her what to do。 Instead she goes against it and I’m all here FOR it! The storyline is fantastic, and kept me intrigued。 Plenty of action, and steamy 🔥scenes。 Looking forward to the next book!

THIS BOOK IS NC17 – If you’re a Young Adult genre fan – move on。 If you’re looking for something dirtier than the standard vanilla romance books, get this book。 Don’t forget to pack your pearls – Breene’s new dark fantasy series will lead you through her kingdom of loyalty, darkness, and steam。 Just watch out for that kinky dungeon party along the way。 I hated twists of established fairy tales/characters/movies。 Until KF Breene wrote one。 And I’m sure it’s now ruined me retellings from other aut THIS BOOK IS NC17 – If you’re a Young Adult genre fan – move on。 If you’re looking for something dirtier than the standard vanilla romance books, get this book。 Don’t forget to pack your pearls – Breene’s new dark fantasy series will lead you through her kingdom of loyalty, darkness, and steam。 Just watch out for that kinky dungeon party along the way。 I hated twists of established fairy tales/characters/movies。 Until KF Breene wrote one。 And I’m sure it’s now ruined me retellings from other authors I also had not read erotica books but naturally Breene’s great at that too。 Then again, I’d read a eulogy if she wrote one, but that’s beside the point。 I always enjoyed her sex scenes from her other series’ but never realized how most of them were “vanilla” till now。 This book is perfect for those looking to experience a little more kink without being TOO erotically adventurous。 Yet。 But be prepared, I hear the rest of the series will test those boundaries。 I loved how the main character, Finley, had never really been adventurous either but given the opportunity, chooses where she might be interested in pushing her line。 It’s a powerful “broadening your horizons” story without being overbearing。 Don’t get me wrong though。 There are plenty of crazy kinky scenes in the castle that the stumbles across。 And I’m told we have even more to look forward to in the sequel。 When it comes to the retelling of B&tB, the very basic concepts are there, but are faint enough that it isn’t distracting。 You fall into the unique & dark story to find small breadcrumb reminders; but get quickly distracted by the next twist。 I really cannot quit raving at how well done AROR is。 It’s NOTHING like the original。 Which makes it that much more enjoyable。 And drives you mad wanting to see/read what could happen next。 Fkng masterful is the only way I can describe it。 In the best, most erotic way possible。What stood out to me the most though was how fast and deep (haha pun intended) the plot was developed。 Even with all the sexual angst & situations that pepper the story from cover to cover。 It really was amazingly done。 Nothing felt incomplete plot-wise because of all the time spent on sex, but rather left you wanting more。 Although I will say I felt like I needed a shower to wash all the deliciously dirty scenes away from my mind。 Possibly after reading them one more time for the road…Lastly, I was so lost in the developments toward the end of the book that I had no clue I was rapidly approaching the end。 I MAY have cursed colorfully aloud when I reached what I realized was the final line in the book。 Forget wanting the next book。 I need the entire SERIES。 NOW。 。。。more
